After the trilogy for M83, the ever-amazing duo Fleur & Manu create another epic sci-fi promo, this time for techno DJ Gesaffelstein. The music video  portrays a set of enigmatic characters all connected though a mysterious golden hand. Though much is left to our own imagination concerning the effects of this special hand or how its possessors got hold of it, one thing is for sure: the gold seems to bring out the worse in people rather than the good. Despite the rather sombre and dark atmosphere, the promo is a joy for the eyes with spectacular and nicely integrated special effects. And did we mention it grabs you from the first seconds, and doesn’t let go  until it’s long time finished?

2Pause | Freezing Music Video Culture

The world of music videos has traditionally provided a perfect breeding ground to test new visual styles, VFX and editing techniques. It has also proven to be an extraordinary springboard for some of todays most acclaimed film directors, such as Spike Jonze, Baz Luhrmann and Michel Gondry, to name but three. 2Pause is the second installment of our curated music video website. The old Pause website is still online here.
