Ever since the Great Music Video Renaissance of the late 1990’s, we have been celebrating our love affair with the music video in its many different forms and incarnations in our project called 2Pause. Eons before Youtube, we launched the online music video portal (back then, we called it an online jukebox). We must have featured around 1000 videos since then. Each and everyone of those touched our hearts or challenged our minds. But that’s all folks! As amazing a journey as it was, we have reached the point where we feel it’s time for a new adventure! Our collection will remain online as a resource, but we will no longer be adding new content. And if you’re feeling like it’s the end of an era (as we are) or just a bit nostalgic, here’s our top 5 all-time favorite 2Pause moments. The list of all the promos used in the edit (in the order that they appear): The Temper Trap – Sweet Disposition (d. Daniel Eskils) Air – Sing Sang Sung (d. Mrzyk & Moriceau) Tim and Puma Mimi- Perspective (d. Monika Rohner) Mrzyk & Moriceau Tahiti Boy and the Palmtree Family – 1973 (d. Ben and Julia) Cloudmachine – Safe Haven (d. 2Pause | Freezing Music Video Culture

The world of music videos has traditionally provided a perfect breeding ground to test new visual styles, VFX and editing techniques. It has also proven to be an extraordinary springboard for some of todays most acclaimed film directors, such as Spike Jonze, Baz Luhrmann and Michel Gondry, to name but three. 2Pause is the second installment of our curated music video website. The old Pause website is still online here.
